It took nearly a decade, but Adam Gase has finally cut ties with his old team the Detroit Lions.
Gase, in his third season as Miami Dolphins head coach, said in a conference call with Detroit reporters Wednesday, that he only recently sold the Dearborn house he bought when he was an assistant with the Lions.
Gase joined the Lions as a scouting assistant in 2003 and worked his way up to quarterbacks coach in 2007 before leaving for an assistant job with the San Francisco 49ers.
