The Detroit Lions need help in their front seven. This is a well-known weakness after the team struggled for a good part of the season stopping the run and could never create much pressure against the pass.
The need for an upgrade at linebacker has been apparent both for depth purposes and due to the unknown future of DeAndre Levy. So it makes sense for Mel Kiper Jr. to look at the front seven when he’s projecting a pick for the Lions at No. 21.
In his first mock draft, Kiper went with Alabama outside linebacker Tim Williams.
