The Detroit Lions bolstered their struggling run defense on Tuesday when they reportedly acquired defensive tackle Damon Harrison in a trade with the New York Giants.
Harrison has experience. He's an All-Pro.
And just hours into his Lions tenure, the run-stuffer might already have the best nickname on the roster.
Harrison is nicknamed "Snacks," and the origin of the nickname apparently is "one part locker room ribbing, and one part motivational tactic," according to a Sports Illustrated story published in 2016.
The 6-foot-3, 355-pound lineman earned the nickname while playing for the New York Jets because he reportedly was "always eating" in defensive meetings.
