Dan Orlovsky was the Lions quarterback before Matthew Stafford, and he was the backup for Detroit's No. 1 overall pick for three years after that. He worked with him in the film room, in the locker room and on the sidelines as Stafford transformed away from the gunslinger who threw so much to Calvin Johnson to the one in command of an audible-heavy offense.
Now, Orlovsky is coming to the defense of his former QB1 as the criticism mounts:

Two days prior, Stafford's own wife, Kelly Stafford, came to his defense in a more blunt and direct shot at the critics.
