INDIANAPOLIS -- The Detroit Lions would like to get a contract extension done with quarterback Matthew Stafford, but general manager Bob Quinn said Wednesday afternoon that the team and Stafford's agent, Tom Condon, have not begun to talk about a potential deal.

Stafford is entering the final year of his contract and could be in line to be the highest-paid player in the NFL, with a potential contract at $25 million per year.

“We have not talked to Matthew and his representatives,” Quinn said. “I think that is something that eventually we will get to.
