For the first time in history, a kicker has taken home Phil Simms' All-Iron Award.
As CBS Sports PR announced, the CBS broadcaster named Detroit Lions kicker Matt Prater as one of three recipients after he knocked down all three of his attempts in Thursday's 16-13 win over the Minnesota Vikings, including a 40-yarder as time expired. Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford and cornerback Darius Slay were the other two recipients.
Stafford threw for 232 yards and a touchdown, also engineering a late drive to set up a Prater field goal to tie the game with just under two minutes remaining.
