Matthew Stafford and his wife, Kelly, give preseason tickets to first responders

ALLEN PARK, Mich. -- Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford and his wife, Kelly, gave two preseason tickets each to first responders for police, fire and EMS who were invited to the team’s practice Wednesday night, handing out about 1,500 pairs of tickets.

The Lions invited first responders from Allen Park, Dearborn and Detroit to practice held at the team’s facility. The franchise also did this last season at Edsel Ford High School in Dearborn, Michigan.

“They were all surprised and very appreciative,” Lions team president Rod Wood said. “Kind of gave them two tickets and they were like, ‘Wow, thanks.
