Former Detroit Lions general manager Matt Millen will return to the Big Ten Network broadcast booth for the upcoming college football season after receiving a heart transplant a few months ago.
“I haven’t had any problems. I’m really fortunate from what I’ve been told,” he said to the Associated Press. “I’ve had no setbacks or anything. Things are going pretty good.”
Millen was diagnosed in January 2017 with amyloidosis, a rare disease where abnormal protein buildup causes organ failure. The disease deteriorated his heart and Millen was unable to finish last season's slate of games as a BTN game analyst because of his health.
