NEW ORLEANS -- Marvin Jones tried to give it a go. He stretched out with a trainer. He ran routes with Matthew Stafford. He even cut.

But in the end, it wasn't enough.

The Detroit Lions have scratched Jones for Sunday's showdown with the Saints in New Orleans. Linebacker DeAndre Levy also won't play, along with linebacker Tahir Whitehead, safety Don Carey, tackle Cornelius Lucas, offensive lineman Joe Dahl and quarterback Jake Rudock.
