ALLEN PARK -- When was the last time you thought about Don Muhlbach? It's been a while, right?
And that's the way it's supposed to be for long snappers. If you're thinking about them, or God forbid hearing about them, something's probably already gone terribly wrong.
But Don Muhlbach ain't your ordinary long snapper.
He is the Detroit Lions' longest-tenured player, the last holdover from the Matt Millen era, the last player left who was there when Matthew Stafford was drafted first overall. And on Sunday, he'll add to his unique legacy when he plays in his 219th game for the franchise.
