Live updates: Lions forced to punt, trail 27-23

Golden Tate made a first down catch at the marker but decided it would be a good idea to spin backwards to try and get even more yardage.

That was not a good decision, as Tate was dropped immediately and came up short of the marker.

With 6:21 remaining, the Lions trail 27-23.

Lions bend but don't break

Minnesota got into Lions territory, but the Lions defense stiffened and was able to force a Vikings punt that gets the ball back to the Lions offense with 8:28 remaining at their own 9.

Matt Stafford is back on the field with the Lions trailing 27-23.
