Lions take 10-7 lead
Early in the second quarter, the Lions offense took its first lead. Quarterback Matthew Stafford found receiver TJ Jones for the 29-yard touchdown. The score was the first of Jones' career. With 14:15 left in the half, the Lions lead 10-7.
Lions defense steps in, still down 7-3
The Detroit defense did on its second drive what it couldn't do on the first: made a stop. The Lions held the 49ers to a three-and-out, and with 3:54 to go in the first quarter, the Niners are still up 7-3.
