Live blog: Slay forces late turnover, offense has shot to take lead

Trailing the Eagles 23-21 and approaching the two-minute warning, the Lions desperately needed a stop.

Cornerback Darius Slay did one better, forcing Eagles running back Ryan Mathews to fumble on a third-and-2 near midfield. Defensive tackle Tyrunn Walker recovered the fumble at the Eagles’ 45, giving the Lions a shot to take the lead.

The play was reviewed but stood as called. The Lions take over but have no timeouts with 2:34 remaining.

The Lions’ offense, however, has gone absolutely cold in the second half. Following a Matthew Stafford incompletion to start the drive, Theo Riddick was dropped for 6-yard loss by linebacker Nigel Bradham to set up third-and-16 at Lions’ 19.
