Live blog: Long Prater field goal bolsters Lions lead

The Lions did some work with the ground game before settling for a Matt Prater 54-yard field goal that gives them a 13-3 lead with 5:40 left to play in the third quarter.

Dwayne Washington had a seven yard run, Zach Zenner romped into Chicago territory for 13 and Matt Stafford was able to scramble and pick up a first down.

A third down pass was batted down at the line to force the long field goal try.

Lions force Bears punt to start second half

Matt Barkley hit Joshua Bellamy for 23 yards on the first play of the second half, but the Lions defense would be having none of a long Bears drive, shutting the Chicago offense down over the next three plays and forcing a punt.
