The Lions’ offense is off to a hot start against the Eagles.
Quarterback Matthew Stafford and running back Theo Riddick hooked up once again on a 17-yard score to cap a nine-play, 80-yard drive as the Lions opened up a 14-0 lead over the Eagles with 53 seconds left in the first quarter.
The key play of the drive came on a second-and-12 when Stafford scrambled for 14 yards and took a late shot by Eagles safety Rodney McLeod, who was flagged for a 15-yard unnecessary roughness penalty to give the Lions the ball at the Eagles’ 21.
