Lions/Steelers halftime observations: Lions reserves look rough in first half

Pittsburgh — The Detroit Lions opted to rest many of the team's starters for Saturday night's preseason contest against the Pittsburgh Steelers and it showed. At halftime, the Lions found themselves down, 20-0 with nearly nothing to hang their hat on through two quarters.

Backup quarterback Tim Boyle wasn't sharp, misfiring on multiple throws and finishing 6-13 for 35 yards, with an intentional grounding penalty to boot.
