After holding a walkthrough on Wednesday, the Detroit Lions (9-1) held a more intense practice on Thursday as they prepared to take on the Indianapolis Colts (5-6) in Week 12.
With the core of the team and coaching staff having been together for over three seasons, the Lions feel like they have the intelligence and maturity to handle a scaled-back practice on Wednesday. The benefits of a walkthrough allow the team an extra day to recover, and in turn, sets the team up to have more energized practices on Thursday and Friday.
Despite the Lions' intense Thursday practice, they were fortunate to have every player on their active roster participating, including star tight end Sam LaPorta, who missed last week’s game with a shoulder injury.
