The Lions thought they’d found a diamond in the rough in 2013 when undrafted tackle LaAdrian Waddle made their 53-man roster out of camp and would go on to start eight games for them at right tackle that season. He 10 more in 2014 before injuring his knee.
But Waddle never returned to form after undergoing offseason knee surgery and struggled to be a consistent performer along the Lions’ much maligned offensive line this season.
He started six games early on, but lost his job to Michael Ola last month has been mostly inactive since.
Tuesday, the team waived Waddle to make room for center Gabe Ikard, who was claimed off waivers from the Browns.
