0-0-1 isn’t the way the Detroit Lions envisioned beginning the 2019 season, but that’s where they stand heading into their home opener with against the Los Angeles Chargers.
With both clubs arriving at different outcomes in overtime last week, another tightly contested game could be at hand.
Like the Lions, the Chargers blew a large lead in their opener. However, L.A. was able to gain the upper hand in the extra frame, walking away with a 30-24 victory against the Indianapolis Colts.
The Lions registered their first tie since 1984, 27-27 against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 1, and will face a Chargers squad missing several key contributors, on both sides of the ball (and potentially on special teams as well).
