Lions tweak tight end group shortly before final practice of OTAs

ALLEN PARK -- The roster building process never really stops in the NFL, including in the final hours leading up to the last practice before the summer break.

The Detroit Lions announced Thursday morning they've signed free-agent tight end Sean McGrath. They released another tight end, Wes Saxton, in the corresponding move.

McGrath, a fourth-year veteran out of Henderson State, played the last two years with the Chargers. He appeared in 15 games last year, started six, and finished with four catches for 46 yards.

He'll be competing for a job in Detroit's new-look tight end rotation.
