ALLEN PARK -- The Detroit Lions held their sixth practice of training camp on Thursday during a sun-splashed morning at team headquarters. Here are some notes.
-- Rookie running back Kerryon Johnson made the play of the day when he ran past Jalen Reeves-Maybin on a wheel route, then slid to make the diving catch on a low throw from Matt Cassel. Watching it develop, it reminded me of the touchdown catch Theo Riddick made a couple years ago to beat the Dolphins in the final minute. Now Riddick's one of the best pass-catching running backs in the league, so I'm not making a comparison here.
