ALLEN PARK -- The Detroit Lions returned to practice Wednesday after taking their first day off since the start of camp. They were padded up again, and they were hitting again. Hard. Here are some notes.
-- For the third time in training camp, the Lions saw a star player crumple to the ground. And for the third time in training camp, the scare proved to be only that -- a scare. On Wednesday, it was Darius Slay who flirted with disaster. He limped off the field early in the workout and then went to ground to have his right knee examined by a trainer.
