Lions trade Jeremy Kerley to 49ers for lineman Brandon Thomas

The Lions agreed to trade veteran receiver, Jeremy Kerley, to the 49ers for interior offensive lineman, Brandon Thomas. Thomas, a former third-round pick from the 2014 NFL draft, has yet to play an NFL down since being drafted by the 49ers. He suffered an ACL injury that caused him to miss his entire first year and was a backup last season. The 49ers have a huge need at receiver, after losing Boldin — their leading receiver from 2015 — to the Lions in free agency.
