SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- If the Detroit Lions are going to come back on the road against the 49ers, they're going to have to do it without their All-Pro cornerback.
Darius Slay suffered a brain injury in the third quarter of Sunday's game at Levi's Stadium, and will not return. Detroit was trialing 20-13 at the time.
Slay suffered the injury in a collision with fullback Kyle Juszczyk. He laid on the ground for several minutes, then was escorted by personnel to the medical evaluation tent on Detroit's sideline. He then headed for the locker room.
This is the second time in as many weeks that Slay has left a game with an injury.
