Lions spread blame for key fumbled pitch in fourth quarter

MINNEAPOLIS -- Already trailing 17-6 against a defense that wouldn't let them run or pass the football, Detroit was probably cooked anyway. But whatever hope remained was fried by a fat-guy touchdown in the fourth quarter.

Frustrated all afternoon by the Vikings defense, Matthew Stafford tried to make something happen by scrambling upfield and then pitching the football to a wide-open Kerryon Johnson. But Johnson was caught off guard, couldn't handle the rock and Minnesota defensive end Danielle Hunter raced 32 yards the other way with it for a touchdown.

That made it 24-6, and the Lions went on to lose 24-9 on Sunday at U.
