ALLEN PARK -- The Detroit Lions are using their off day to fortify the depth in their secondary, coming to terms with cornerback Sterling Moore.
And, surprise! He has a history with new Lions coach Matt Patricia.
Moore went undrafted out of SMU in 2011, then flamed out in Oakland that year. But the Patriots signed him to their practice squad, promoted him to the 53-man roster a week later and he wound up playing in six games as a rookie, starting three. He picked off two passes in the season finale, too, one of which he returned for a touchdown.
