Allen Park, Mich. –The Detroit Lions announced today that they have signed free agents TE Andrew Quarless and LB Dominique Tovell. Contract terms were not disclosed.
The Lions also announced today that they have waived TE Ben McCord and placed WR on Reserve/Injured.
A fifth-round draft selection (154 overall) by the Green Bay Packers in 2010 out of Penn State, Quarless played the previous six seasons with the Packers (2010-15), where he recorded 89 receptions for 940 yards and six touchdowns in 60 games (27 starts). In eight postseason games (two starts), he totaled 10 receptions for 85 yards and one touchdown.
