ALLEN PARK, Mich. -- The Detroit Lions signed nine players to futures contracts Monday, two days after they were eliminated from the NFC playoffs.
The majority of the signees were players on their own practice squad. Here’s a thumbnail look at all nine players (with college in parentheses):
WR Jared Abbrederis (Wisconsin): Abbrederis was with Green Bay for 2015 and part of 2016, making 10 catches for 119 yards. Abbrederis had two of the biggest games of his career against Detroit, including a four-catch, 57-yard game at Green Bay in 2015.
