Lions sign G Don Barclay

Detroit’s offensive line has dealt with its fair share of injuries, stemming from even before the start of training camp when Taylor Decker suffered a torn labrum.

On Monday, the Lions placed Tim Lelito, a veteran guard the team signed during the season, on injured-reserve. Lelito joined fellow guards “Good Job” Joe Dahl and Zac Kerin on the IR, leaving the team with virtually no depth at the guard position.

Even though there was plenty of speculation about the fate of Josh Sitton, the Chicago Bears guard who was involved in trade rumors leading up to Tuesday’s deadline, Detroit opted to sign another familiar face in Don Barclay, a free agent who spent the previous six seasons with the Green Bay Packers.
