Lions sign former Saints safety Rafael Bush

The Detroit Lions added more help for their secondary today, signing safety Rafael Bush to a one-year deal.

Bush, whose contract could max out at $2.4 million according to NFL Network, made a free agent visit to the Lions on Friday and projects to start next to Glover Quin at safety in a revamped secondary.

The Lions lost one starting safety, Isa Abdul-Quddus, in free agency, and have informed top backup James Ihedigbo he won't return. Cornerback Rashean Mathis also retired.

"We haven’t got into the logistics of role and scheme or anything of that nature," Bush said in a conference call with Detroit reporters today.
