Allen Park – The Detroit Lions made a four-player swap along the defensive line on Thursday, waiving two undrafted free agents to add a pair of young veterans.
The team announced they’ve signed defensive tackles Ego Ferguson and Bruce Gaston, while letting go Nick James and Maurice Swain.
Ferguson, a former second-round pick by the Chicago Bears, hasn’t played in a regular-season game since October 2015. He suffered a knee injury that year, followed by a season-ending shoulder injury last preseason.
The 6-foot-2, 300-pounder was released by the Bears in March. He was claimed off waivers by the Packers, but waived days later after failing a physical.
