ALLEN PARK -- The Detroit Lions have signed a defensive end, though it's not exactly the pass rush help they need.
Detroit added Earl Okine to the practice squad on Monday, and released Derrick Lott in the corresponding move.
Okine has a connection to Detroit, playing his college ball at Florida when Lions defensive coordinator Teryl Austin held the same position for the Gators. He's gone to play just about every form of professional football on this continent, including for the Calgary Stampeders in the Canadian Football League, the Orlando Predators in the Arena Football league and the Brooklyn Bolts in the Fall Experimental Football League.
