The Lions began securing some of their players on the first day they’re allowed to do so per NFL rules.
The team signed five players from their practice squad this year to reserve/futures contracts for the 2016 season.
Those players include: linebacker Khaseem Greene, tight end Casey Pierce, receiver Ryan Spadola, receiver Corey Washington and offensive tackle Tyrus Thompson.
This is the first batch in what should be more futures deals to come down the pipeline for the Lions in the coming days and weeks.
