Lions roster cuts: Detroit to cut LB Freddie Bishop, TE Sean McGrath

The Detroit Lions have an hour to get their roster down to 53 men, and now they’re under 10 roster moves to make. The Detroit Free Press is reporting that veteran linebacker Freddie Bishop is the latest player to be cut.

Bishop, formerly of Western Michigan University, was added back in July, just before the start of training camp. Prior to his short stint in Detroit, Bishop had played two season with the Jets, making five game appearances and 10 tackles.

Bishop got plenty of playing time throughout the preseason, but when he only got three snaps during the Lions’ dress rehearsal against the Buccaneers, it looked like his fate my have been sealed.
