In the fourth-round of the NFL Draft, the Lions grabbed hard-hitting safety Miles Killebrew out of Southern Utah.
Analysts were split on how much they like his pro potential, but the team had a huge need for a strong safety. Former starter James Ihedigbo was not retained and the Lions lost Isa Abdul-Quddus to the Dolphins in free agency.
The team signed safeties Rafael Bush and Tavon Wilson to make up for those losses. They still needed to add a long-term answer and they may have found that in Killebrew. The team’s free safety, Glover Quin, is best when he is able to roam the field in coverage.
