For the second time in as many months, running back Rasheed Williams has been released by the Detroit Lions.
Before kicking off the second day of their mandatory minicamp, the Detroit Lions made a change to their roster by releasing running back Rasheed Williams. If this sounds familiar, it's because the Lions also released Williams back in May shortly after signing him as an undrafted free agent.
The first time Williams was released, the move mainly revolved around his unavailability. With school still in session for Williams, he wasn't eligible to take part in the Lions' initial set of OTAs, so they freed up a roster spot for someone else while he was busy wrapping up his schoolwork.
