Lions re-sign Don Muhlbach, Kerry Hyder

The Detroit Lions knocked one item off their offseason checklist on Saturday, re-signing long snapper Don Muhlbach.

Next season will mark Muhlbach’s 15th with the franchise. He ranks third on the team’s all-time list of games played, at 212, and is in line to pace to pass longtime center Dominic Raiola (219) next season.

Muhlbach was originally signed as an undrafted free agent by the Baltimore Ravens in 2004, but was released by the team just before the regular season. The Lions signed him two months later as a mid-season injury replacement.

Detroit brought in competition for Muhlbach in 2016, drafting long snapper Jimmy Landes in the sixth round.
