ALLEN PARK -- Ameer Abdullah has not been able to suit up for a down of football this offseason. That's normally a huge setback for a player, and especially young ones.
Yet the Detroit Lions running back insists not only will he be as good in 2016 as he was as rookie, but he'll actually be better because of it.
"I feel like it's actually helped me a lot," Abdullah said. "Just mentally, watching things from a coach's perspective."
Abdullah is nursing his way back from shoulder surgery after suffering an injury in the final month of last season.
