Matthew Stafford played through a finger injury before, and not especially well.
But the Detroit Lions' quarterback said Monday on "The Mitch Albom Show" that the injury he suffered to his right middle finger in Sunday's win over the Chicago Bears is not as serious as the one he dealt with in 2011.
"I’ve had the broken index before and played with that, and that’s no fun," Stafford said on WJR-AM (760). "But this one will be a little bit different. I don’t think it’s going to be as bad as that one was."
Stafford broke the index finger on his throwing hand in a late October game in 2011, then played three games after a bye week while wearing a glove to get a better grip on the football.
