Lions QB Matthew Stafford could pass Jim Plunkett in all-time passing yards

CHICAGO -- Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford has made a large move up the NFL’s all-time passing yards list this season. Realistically he can pass one more player before the Lions' season concludes Sunday afternoon with a game against the Bears.

Stafford, finishing his seventh season, has thrown for 25,678 yards, making him No. 65 all-time. He’s the only active quarterback under the age of 30 in the top 100. Against the Bears he’ll have a shot to move past Raiders legend Jim Plunkett for No. 64 all-time.

Plunkett threw for 25,882 yards from 1971 to 1986.
