Lions president Rod Wood offers Matt Patricia a vote of confidence

DETROIT -- The Lions front office has broken its silence to offer a vote of confidence in head coach Matt Patricia.

"I do think it's important for the fans to know that we have a great head coach and a great general manager and we have a great plan in place to build a foundation I think for success, not only hopefully this year, but for many years to come," Wood told WWJ-TV (Channel 62).

Patricia's arrival in Detroit was met with fanfare, but his debut has fallen flat. Decades-old accusations of sexual assault came to light over the summer, then players were slow to adapt to the tough training camp he brought to Detroit.
