They voiced their opinions toward the end of the season and over the past week, and the Detroit Lions players were paying attention from afar.
Ever since Detroit hired Bob Quinn as its new general manager, the top question was whether he would retain head coach Jim Caldwell for a third season. On Friday, Quinn announced he would be keeping Caldwell, who had close to unanimous support in the Lions locker room throughout the season.
Now the players are happy their guy is going to still be there.
"It’s a great feel to have our captain back leading us," defensive end Darryl Tapp said.
