The Lions announced Wednesday they have placed linebacker DeAndre Levy on season-ending injured reserve, and signed linebacker James-Michael Johnson.
Levy, who signed a contract extension during the offseason, missed most of traning camp and the first four games of the season with a hip injury. Levy underwent surgery after aggravating the injury in a Week 5 loss to the Cardinals. It is Levy’s only appearance this season.
The 6-foot-1, 240-pound Johnson was drafted in the fourth round of the 2012 NFL draft by the Browns. He has played for the Jaguars (two games) and Buccaneers (one game) this season.
