ALLEN PARK -- Only three teams rushed the passer less often than the Detroit Lions last season. Now they'll open training camp without two of their most important pass rushers.
The club announced Thursday it has placed linebacker Devon Kennard to the non-football injury list. The move comes just two days after defensive end Ezekiel Ansah was placed on the physically unable to perform list.
Another defensive lineman, Cornelius Washington, was also placed on the NFI. Detroit completed the flurry of activity by waiving linebacker Al-Rasheed Benton Waive and offensive lineman Beau Nunn.
The loss of Kennard is the most noteworthy move.
