Lions president Rod Wood said last Sunday the team would try to hire a general manager as soon as possible, and the team wasted little time finding its man.
The Lions have agreed in principle to hire Bob Quinn, the director of scouting for the New England Patriots, as their next GM, the team confirmed Friday evening.
Quinn, 39, was among the four candidates the Lions planned to interview in their search, which was led by former NFL GM Ernie Accorsi. The Lions plucked their GM from the best team in the NFL over the past two decades.
