Detroit Lions running back LeGarrette Blount missed Wednesday’s practice due to an illness, per the team’s official injury report.
Blount has been splitting carries with Lions rookie Kerryon Johnson, much to the dismay of many fans. While Johnson has been averaging an impressive 5.7 yards per carry, Blount is only at 2.7 YPC. While an illness won’t likely keep Blount out for long, it does open up the possibility of Johnson becoming the full-time back this week against the Packers.
Elsewhere on the injury report, it was a bit surprising to see Quandre Diggs at practice after reportedly suffering a broken hand last week.
