Lions on pace for worst rushing in NFL history

Allen Park — The Lions are on pace for the worst rushing performance in a 16-game season in NFL history.

With just 245 rushing yards the first five games, the Lions are on pace for 784 yards for the season. The 2000 San Diego Chargers currently hold the record for fewest rushing yards in a season with 1,062.

And after running the ball just 87 times, the Lions' projected 278.4 attempts would be the least-committed attack since the league turned to a 16-game schedule. The 2006 Lions currently hold the record for fewest attempts with 304.
