DETROIT -- The Lions woke up on Nov. 4 just one game out of first place in the NFC North. Less than a month later, they've been officially eliminated from the race entirely.
Detroit completed its spectacular fall on Sunday with a 30-16 loss against the Los Angeles Rams, the club's fourth setback in five games. It's now 4-8 on the season.
With the Bears leading the way at 8-4, plus holding a series sweep against Detroit, it's mathematically impossible for the Lions to win the NFC North.
They still have never won the NFC North.
