INDIANAPOLIS -- Matthew Stafford was reportedly among a small cadre of people whom Calvin Johnson gave a head's up to about his possible retirement.
A couple months later, though, the Detroit Lions quarterback is just like the rest of us: Waiting around to hear official word, one way or the other, on whether Detroit's most talented offensive player is going to play in 2016 or not.
If he doesn't, Stafford says things will have to change.
"Defenses treat you different (when Johnson's not on the field), and we have to play offense a little bit differently," Stafford, who has made scant public statements since the Johnson news broke, told ProFootballTalk on Tuesday.
