Both Detroit Lions fans and coaches have been pretty excited about the team’s linebacking crew for a few years now. Whether it is Malcolm Rodriguez’s improbable rookie season, Alex Anzalone’s ascension, the potential of first-round pick Jack Campbell, or just the team’s overall solid depth, the general consensus locally is Detroit is in a good—if not great—spot at linebacker.
That feeling does not appear to be mutual with the national media. In several rankings across various publications, the Lions’ linebacking crew has been deemed average, at best.
